CAS Member Highlight: Angela Hansen
S.C. Swiderski (SCS) consistently strives to strengthen communities as we passionately provide housing across the state of Wisconsin and beyond. But our dedication to and support of local communities does not stop there.
From hosting annual food drives to the inaugural “Let the Pies Fly” fundraiser to send local veterans on the Honor Flight, the Community Action Service (CAS) committee is an essential piece of SCS. CAS is an employee-led committee dedicated to showing our passion for providing housing that strengthens community by giving back to the communities we serve. Our commitment to social responsibility and community engagement drives what we do.
Angela Hansen, SCS Marketing Manager, CAS member and winner of SCS’s “Heart of the Community” Award, shares this ideology. As she intentionally seeks out volunteer opportunities in her personal life, they allow her to have a meaningful impact on her community and future generations.
A Commitment to Giving Back
With 40+ years of dedicated volunteering, serving her community is engrained in who Angela is. Whether she is leading her Girl Scouts as they complete their service projects, creating custom costumes for a local community theatre production or trash pickup for Ghidorzi’s Green & Clean, Angela spends a majority of her free time dedicated to the betterment of her community.
Angela’s experiences of volunteering and shaping her community throughout her life allow her to have a positive impact on future generations. “I tend to have a strong focus on supporting and guiding young people. Through my involvement in theater, scouts, and faith-formation activities, I help create positive environments for young people to grow, learn and connect,” she explained. This focus allows her to share a “commitment to giving back through service projects and social engagements. My goal is to strengthen communities by empowering the next generation to make a meaningful impact.”
A Value of Community
In her 2 years here at SCS, Angela has emboldened, encouraged and inspired community involvement across the company. Introducing new initiatives, encouraging employee engagement and participation, and inspiring service are all characteristics Angela has shown throughout her tenure. As the winner of the 2025 “Heart of the Community” Award at the SCS All-Staff Meeting in September, Angela was recognized by fellow employees as the person who exemplifies community service with positive impact inside and outside of the office.
In explaining why being involved is meaningful to her, she states, “It is very easy to get lost in your own struggles. I volunteer because helping others gives me a sense of purpose. By focusing on the needs of others, I'm less preoccupied with my own challenges, and I'm reminded of the value of compassion and community.”
From her 40+ years of volunteering to her intentional empowerment of new generations, Angela Hansen truly exemplifies everything SCS values and strives for. Her encouragement and dedication are an inspiration for many, truly making her the heart of the community.
