S.C. Swiderski Welcomes Two Youth Apprentices
On June 13th S.C. Swiderski welcomed two youth apprentices to our team! Graham and Isabella are students at Wausau East High School and will be working in the construction field under the leadership of SCS Construction Field Manager Amber Keller. S.C. Swiderski held a signing ceremony where the students, parents and school advisor met with members of the leadership team at S.C. Swiderski including our COO, Nathanael Popp, Director of Construction, Tom Woller and Director of Development, Jacqui McElroy. The students and their guests enjoyed refreshments following the ceremony.
The Youth Apprenticeship Program combines academic and technical instruction with mentored, paid, on-the-job learning that makes a real-world connection for students. These students get to earn a paycheck while learning from skilled professionals. They also receive high school elective credit and a state-issued skills certificate, which is organized by employers and colleges.
Youth Apprenticeship is a great opportunity for employers to offer hands on experience to high school students. Employers who participate in Youth Apprenticeship have the pleasure of increasing students career interest and awareness while offering a unique educational experience. “This is a very exciting time for us at SCS, as we are new to the Youth Apprenticeship program. I am very eager to have the opportunity to help create a foundation to support Graham and Isabella, as well as other local youth, with building their careers. Not only is this a great opportunity for us to bring young construction talent into our organization and evaluate them as future candidates. The Youth Apprenticeship program also gives us a chance to invest in the next generation by developing leaders” says Construction HR Administrator, Melissa Rozmarynowski.
S.C. Swiderski is proud to work with talented students through the SCS Pathway Program. This important investment in students shapes the future workforce. Therefore, we are committed to providing a valuable experience for their associates by allowing students to interact with all areas of the company and participate in company events for a comprehensive learning experience. The programs can be tailored to each individual’s school requirements and experience goals.
