S.C. Swiderski’s Community Action Service Group: 2025 Half/Year in Review

At S.C. Swiderski, giving back is more than a value, it is a way of life. The Community Action Service (CAS) group, led by dedicated employees, has once again demonstrated the power of collective action in making a positive impact on our local communities. From fundraising and donation drives to hands-on service projects, CAS has provided meaningful opportunities for employees to engage, support, and uplift those around us. Here is a look at the highlights from the first half of the year.

Bake & Book Sale: Supporting Literacy in Marathon County

In February, CAS organized a deliciously successful Bake and Book Sale. Employees contributed homemade treats and gently used books that were sold to staff who could enjoy the treats and a new book to read. Proceeds from the event went directly to the Marathon County Literacy Council, as well as the unsold books which provided funds to help literacy programs and resources for adults and families in our area. The event not only raised vital funds but also promoted the joy of reading and lifelong learning.

Community Baby Shower: Helping Families at The Baby’s Place

In March, CAS hosted a Community Baby Shower to benefit The Baby’s Place, a program of The Neighbor’s Place. Employees donated essential baby items like diapers and wipes helping new and expecting families in need with crucial support. The outpouring of generosity was heartwarming. The Baby’s Place was able to take the donations and create care packages to deliver to grateful families.

Ghidorzi Green and Clean: Beautifying Our Community

Demonstrating a commitment to environmental stewardship, CAS members joined the annual Ghidorzi Green and Clean event. Donning gloves and armed with trash bags, our team worked alongside other community volunteers to clean up sidewalks, trails, and public spaces in the Cedar Creek area. This hands-on effort not only beautified the surroundings near SCS Rothschild but also fostered teamwork and a sense of pride in our shared environment.

Fundraiser for Never Forgotten Honor Flight: Honoring Our Veterans

In a moving tribute to local veterans, CAS organized a fundraiser for the Never Forgotten Honor Flight. Through creative incentives, the employee contributions raised will send four veterans on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Washington, D.C., where they will visit the memorials built in their honor. This project resonated deeply with employees, many of whom have personal connections to those who have served.

Brat Fry for Scouting America: Supporting Tomorrow’s Leaders

The June event, CAS welcomed Scout Troops 259 and 439 to fire up the grill for a Brat Fry to benefit Scouting America. Employees and community members alike enjoyed a classic Wisconsin cookout, with all proceeds supporting local scouting programs. The funds raised will help provide leadership development, outdoor adventures, and educational opportunities for the scouts in our area.

Looking Ahead

The impact of CAS’s efforts has been felt across the company and community, from families and veterans to local youth and the environment. These projects would not be possible without the enthusiasm, generosity, and hard work of S.C. Swiderski employees.

As we look forward to the rest of 2025 and beyond, CAS remains committed to finding ways to serve, support, and strengthen our communities. Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and made a difference this year. Together, we are building a brighter future one project at a time.
