Professional Women in Building Week
Professional Women in Building Week celebrates women as an important part of the residential construction industry. At S.C. Swiderski, women make up a large portion of our leadership team as well as many teams throughout the company. Sierra Braun, one of the Architectural Drafters here at S.C. Swiderski, wrote about her experience.
“Working in the construction industry has always been a dream of mine, specifically in architectural design. I strive to soak up as much knowledge as I can from those around me, actively building my foundation for becoming an Architect. Watching a project go from a napkin sketch to reality will never get old. Each project brings more opportunities to learn and develop both myself and my teammates. Being a key player in guiding the design from development through construction is challenging but extremely rewarding, and it is super exciting to work at a company with so much growth and opportunity within reach,” says Braun.
Sierra has been with SCS for 1 year and is an integral part of our success, along with all of our employees. As the building industry is typically a male dominated industry, SCS has a female site superintendent, 2 female project managers, a female field manager, female general laborers and many other female employees who are an essential part of the success of SCS. SCS is proud to hire a diverse group of people and we can't thank our employees enough for their hard work. As we celebrate Professional Women in Building Week, we invite everyone to take a moment to reflect on the history of women in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) field and the bright future they have with SCS.
